All Hung Up

Have you ever gone to places like The Container Store or received ads in the mail that display perfect neat closets?  Have you ever thought, "Dang, it would be nice to have my closet that neat...maybe I'll just switch the hangers or something cheap like that to make it look a hair better..."?  Then, have you ever picked up a pack of those good looking hangers to find out that a pack of like two wood hangers cost close to $5?

It's no wonder that so many people have closets of mismatched hangers, no nonsense thin metal hangers, or bulky plastic hangers.  Well, Dan and I lucked out the other day...our local Steve and Barry's is officially closing their doors for good which means everything was on sale.  While most people were scouring the store for cheap clothing deals, we were scouring the store for fixtures like TVs, wood furniture, and wooden hangers. We lucked out; they were not only selling the hangers that were used in store - they were also selling boxes of new hangers they didn't get around to using yet.  We got a box of 100 brand-new cherry wood hangers for $25!

When I got that box of hangers home, I got to say "goodbye!" to my old closet of mishmash hangers (even that ugly pink one!):

And replace them all with the new cherry wood hangers!!!

We replaced the hangers in our bedroom closet and our coat closet.  I didn't realize that we had so much clothing in our closets...out of 100 hangers, we had only 12 hangers left without something hanging on it.  I was telling Dan - these hangers make me want to go out and buy nicer clothes to hang up! 

And what of those old hangers...?  Well, we're going to donate a bunch of the ugly ones, and will most likely keep a handful of the metal ones.  After all, James will need hangers someday to hang his clothes on - and he ain't getting any of ours!!!! Bwahahahahah!
