Last Sunday, while performing with Dan at a San Leandro Bible Church's Chinese New Year Celebration, I noticed something weird in an almost Biblical sense...

A car was perched on top of a wall. I was confused..."how the heck did that car get up there?!!?"

To my surprise, a technology I thought was only in Japan has landed itself here in the Bay Area...in San Leandro apartment complex of all places - the car was parked in a parking lift! I saw several of these car park lifts when Dan and I were performing in Japan. Never would I have guessed that of all places in the US, these car lifts would be seen here! Now if only these lifts were installed in San Francisco! Can you imagine how many more cars would be able to park in the city?!?! It would be brilliant!

they have a couple of them in LA, too! and i saw quite a few of them in NY.

I've seen a parking lot in San Francisco have them. They are blue. I've only seen one though, no where else. They are by the Embarcadero area. I run by them when I have to go to the post office to pick up boxes.

I have seen these only once... on TV. I don't remember the show, but I'm sure it was in NY. I remember thinking, "Only in NY would they invent another way to bleed even more money out of the public for parking. Why not stack the cars now?" They must be parkades with valets since the bottom car would have to be moved to get the top one out -- I'm guessing.
