Since we're probably not going to see a Snoopy Manga anytime soon, I figured I might as plug Bleedman's Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi...you'll never look at Cartoon Network characters the same ever again! There are cameo appearances of favorite characters like the RowdyRuff Boys, Billy and Mandy, Ed, Edd, and Eddie, Jenny (My life as a Teenage Robot), and more!

Bleedman gives the characters complex personalities, draws with so much detail, and incorporates this all with a great mix of his own characters.

He also writes two other comics - one is based on The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, the other is purely all of Bleedman Designs. Check out his comics though the links below!

Someone thought it would be a clever idea to draw their own version of Snoopy and the Gang, Manga-Style. I love the original Schulz style - but I totally would read the manga if there was one! Charlie Brown looks like such a badass! It rocks!

Gamany posted on her blog a link to the upcoming Watchmen Movie - glee! I can't wait to catch it in the theaters! Looks like a lot of good comic adaptations are coming out. Hopefully I can catch The Dark Knight in the theaters sometime soon - if James lets me, that is...

And just for fun...I searched for Watchmen in Google and found this image - hee hee!

One Month of Poopy-Free Diapers

Baby Bjorn Little Red Pooper

It's been a little over a month since I last blogged about Elimination Communication, AKA "Kat's Quest to Get James Out of Diapers". Well, I can't say that James is out of diapers yet, but I can say that I only see a poopy diaper once a week (if at all!), James has woken up with a dry diaper on several occasions, and my favorite - he's even had days where I had to change his diaper due to wetness only once!!! Talk about a breakthrough!!!

I haven't seen a whole lot of crappy diapers lately...Dan and I have been working with James so much that I think he's really realizing that having a crappy diaper is well...crappy. Even my parents have been seeing less dirty diapers. James had a few accidents (mainly due to our work schedule), but overall has been doing so great - I'm really proud of him!

Having the Little Red Potty is really nice, also. Because he can sit up by himself, James can sit on the potty while I'm brushing my teeth in the morning. He really knows what to do while sitting on there - very rarely will I put him on the pooper without getting some kind of deposit! While I'm not thrilled to clean it out, it definitely beats wiping the crap off him - at least I don't have to touch any of that stuff!!!

Our goal is still the same: let's hope James will be out of diapers by 1 year old!

Crawling, Sitting Up, Backpacking...Oh My!

We officially have to baby proof everything in our house...James is on the move and is showing no signs of stopping!

It's hot over here...let me *crawl* over there!

In the last 2 weeks, James learned how to crawl across the room in order to get what he wants. He's gotten so adept at crawling, one day I put him in his room only to see him crawl out the door and into the hallway bathroom so he could examine the linoleum. In the past week or so, he's also figured out how to sit up from his belly. He's been sitting by himself for a while now, but just recently figured out that we don't have to help him get into position...he can do it himself! These two new skills opened up a new world for James, as he's now able to crawl over to toys he wants and sit up to play with them - he's also unfortunately (or fortunately for him!) learned that getting things off his shelves is not so difficult anymore...

These toys look promising

To keep James entertained, we now carry him in a Deuter Kangroo Backpack. He loves being able to check out all the goodies at the Farmer's Markets, getting samples at Costco, and partying with the big kids at the Shoreline Amphitheater. Did I mention that he loves to eat? James has now graduated to eating practically everything we eat (including steak, pho, and even sponge cake!) His favorite treat right now is peaches and apricots - he even helped us eat our salads at Pluto's...

I want Plutos, Daddy!

Ah, how quickly he grows!!!

Welcome Little Cousin!

James got a new cousin! Last Friday, his cousin Matthew was born. Dan and I shook a fist at the name however - James already has an older cousin Matthew! It's cool though - only Dan and I will be confused on whom is being talked about...besides, Big Matthew is in the Midwest...Little Matthew (I'm going to call him Matty) is here in the bay.

Here's a photo of the new daddy Tim, momma Emma, baby Matty, James, me, and Dan. James looks so HUGE compared to Matty - and imagine, there's only a 7 month difference! Yikes!

2 Rubies, One for Each Year Married

The past three days were so much fun! On Sunday, we celebrated Father's Day - while Dan and I had 2 shows to perform, we did get to kick it in the evening and enjoyed a nice Father's Day dinner with my folks.

On Monday, I celebrated my 29th birthday! Dan spoiled me with a facial at A Perfect Day Spa, flowers, and the darned cutest card I've ever seen! My sister and I got to go shopping (talk about great deals at the mall!!!!) and James even treated me to extra sleep - he slept in until 8:30 am!

On Tuesday, Dan and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary! We spent the day cleaning our house...we're hosting a baby shower on Sunday and will be working and attending a wedding between now and Sunday - so we had to get cracking! We did take the evening off though and enjoyed a lovely quiet dinner at Mistral - thanks to Auntie Elaine for taking James for the evening!

What a treat these last few days have been!
