Northerngeek recently posted a blog about a geek who got a computer CPU + Monitor as a tombstone. If death can be geeky, it might as well be cute, too! Yes, you can get your own Hello Kitty tombstone. If she doesn't suit your needs, you can always get one that looks like an Easter Island statue instead....
Last Sunday, Dan, James, and I went on our first big family vacation - Las Vegas, baby! James had his first airplane flight ever - and to my delight, he ate on the way up and down, and slept the whole time in between! I guess I can't brag too much - it was only a one hour flight, after all. ;)
The weather in Vegas was as it should be - hot! But because it's spring, it wasn't triple digits flaming hot, so James and I were able to stroll along the strip, check the hotels, and go shopping in the new Planet Hollywood "Miracle Mile" shopping mall! Our main reason of going out to Vegas, however, was for a magic conference. While Dan spent a majority of his time at the conference, James and I did get the opportunity to hit up the strip, shop, and see a lot of the sights. Ah, such is the life of Dan Chan Magic Man and Kat the Acrobat!
While we didn't get to stay at the Bellagio, we did get to stay at the Orleans. It's not too far from the strip and there is a shuttle bus that goes to and from the strip every 15 minutes. James especially liked the fact that he not only got to swim in the bathtub everyday, but he also got his very own king-sized bed to sleep on for three nights! Talk about luxury!
Our trip was a lot of fun - we're hoping to take another out of state trip (hopefully further away from California!) soon!
Guess who learned how to copy mommy and hum?
I swear, you can practically see the little hamster running like crazy in his little head....
James recently discovered how much he loves toys...whether they be rings, spoons, squeaky birds, flashy ma-doos, or even Mr. Bearington the First (his beloved bear rattle toy), they all ended up in one place: his mouth!
While only a whopping 16 weeks old, James also decided that he does not want to learn how to "roll over", "sit up", or even "crawl" like most normal kids. Nope - he wants to learn how to stand and how to walk! That's right...if he's not "standing" on your lap, or practicing taking baby steps with you holding onto him, he will definitely put up quite a fuss! Lucky for us, our friend Dave gave James a walker at the baby shower - it's James' second favorite spot to explore (next to his Baby Einstein play mat, of course!
It's amazing how fast a baby grows!
Show us something cheerful.
Submitted by Alex.Nothing is more cheerful to me than a cheerful James! (Well, maybe a cheerful Dan...but I think James got Dan beat in the "little cuteness factor". Ahhhhhh, babies!)
God Bless Baby Einstein. James is completely enamored with his Baby Einstein play mat - so much, in fact, that I can have a guaranteed 40 minutes to myself while he's busily kicking the poles, waving his arms, and watching the star at the top flash away while playing music box versions of symphony classics. It's pretty funny, because whenever he hears the music, he automatically goes into full blown "kick mode"! (the star starts playing music and flashing when it detects movements)
Yesterday, while getting his to practice "tummy time" on his play mat, I accidentally bumped into the bar, thus setting off the star and in turn, setting off James! I'm so cruel...I can't help but laugh at Jame's reaction!!! Thankfully he didn't punish me with cries for too long afterwards - he was so relieved to be able to play with his star he forgot to get mad at me!
Like Dan and me, Ace was working hard during the Halloween Season - it's tough being a "show dog"! In the period of 5 days, Dan Ace and I had 20 shows - with two days having 5 shows each day! You can only imagine how swollen my hands and feet were those days - I didn't want to remember so I didn't take any photos! ;)
Ace, however, had a grand old time...all the little kiddies loved him, he got lots of treats for his tricks, and he got to ride in the car...what more can a dog ask for?
I've been done in. People have no consideration for pregnant women who will spontaneously buy cute stuff without batting an eyelash. How could they...
Someone brought a Daiso shop to the Bay Area...and it's only a 5 minute drive from my house.
Now can you imagine the sheer amount of Japanese cutie stuff you can find in that shop? Onigiri wrappers! Bento Boxes up the wah-zoo! Soft fluffy pet beds that look like apples! Bowls! Plates! Toys! Adorably cute cleaning supplies! And the worst part...everything is like $5 or cheaper. I don't stand a chance!!!!!
So naturally, I had to go online and find as many cute bento boxes pictures I could find so that I would have an excuse to go shopping for those teddy bear shaped mini soy sauce containers, onigiri molds and wrappers, and of course, those awesome contraptions that make my boiled eggs look like little fish or cars (I bought one...they are so cool!).
Give me a few weeks...I heard pregnancy can make women do crazy things...I might just have a house full of bentos yet!
